In a video she posted on her Instagram page on Saturday, she says that she has never cheated on any man she has dated or is romantically involved with.
”I ask everybody to forgive my ex-husband Lawrence Abrokwah. Forgive him and pray for him, he needs it. I’ve never cheated on any man I’ve dated, I will never ever cheat on my husband, God is my witness, but let’s leave the truth to come out at its own time. For the meantime I ask everybody to forgive and forget, to err is human to forgive is divine, whoever feels disappointed in me for the one-sided story, you forgive,” she said in the video.
The alleged cheating
About three weeks ago, it was reported that Lawrence Abrokwah, husband of Afia had been charged by the police for recording and circulating a video that captures Afia’s nakedness, and threatened to harm her.
The video which went viral on social media suggested that Afia Schwarzenegger had been caught in bed with another man. This video purportedly recorded by Lawrence Abrokwah captures Afia in a headscarf, trying to cover her nakedness with a white towel.
In the video, the ‘husband’ Lawrence threatens to pour something in a bottle he claims is acid on her face. Afia is heard crying and begging Lawrence not to pour the acid on her.
However, sources say the marriage had collapsed about three months ago and this was confirmed by the actress on her Instagram page and in an audio leaked to the media.
“I am single…ready to date your father! Nice breast, nice ass, not for broke men….Massa get a job and take your eyes off my money,” she wrote on Instagram.
The court ‘swerves’
When the issue broke, reports had it the ‘husband’ of comedienne Afia Schwarzenegger, Mr. Lawrence Abrokwah would appear before the Domestic Violence Court today, Friday September 8, 2017 to answer to charges of threat to harm and circulation of obscene video. However, the case was not raised in court on that day.
Lawyer for Lawrence Abrokwah, Maurice Ampaw had told Citi Showbiz at the Achimota Police Station that the case would go to court on Monday, 11th September, 2017. Again, there was ‘no show.’
A possible reunion?
Fans of the comedienne and the general public have expressed differing opinions on the latest development of the issue. Afia’s call on the general public to forgive her ‘husband’ vis a vis the Lawrence’s earlier statement that he still loves Afia deepens speculations that the two might iron out their differences and get together again.
Even though it was the man who took the matter to the police, a school of thought has it that the two might be working things behind the scenes to take the matter out of court.
