With some of the Africa’s most popular fashion creatives about to showcase in Ghana, it is believed that Accra Fashion Week may just be turning Accra into a fashion capital. In addition to the designers listed, expect a showcase from two of Nigeria’s most promising designers, Weiz Dhurm Franklyn and Sevon Dejena.
Other countries soon to confirm will be fashion creatives from Congo, Kenya, Senegal Togo, Cote d’Ivoire and Gambia. For now, fashion fans in Ghana can expect talent from Cameroon (Nuvi Creative), Angola (Rui Lopes), Zambia (ChizO), Zimbabwe (David Alford), South Africa (Black Pepper), Netherlands (Akwan2fo), Gabon (Imepa Designed), Nigeria (Mimi Maison) and Tanzania (Bobby N Seif).
In partnership with FashionGHANA.com, the event also promised to bring Ghana’s most popular designers to the front line of the fashion world. Popular brand names like Afromod Trends, House of Eccentric, Afre Anko, AVD Lifestyle and many more will contribute to showcasing Ghana’s rich fashion culture, and revealing African fashion trends set to rock in 2017 with international world wide media.
Amongst bringing the trends, Accra Fashion Week 2016 is making it’s mark as the only fashion week in Africa to heavily focus on buyers bringing sales and buyers to participate as the main audience. With diplomats and embassy supporting the event. Late September will see a grand launch for the event that is set to change the face of fashion in Ghana.
It is predicted to host over 150 designers total and over 6000 guests all coming to the International Trade Fair Center in Accra. Ghana has consistently set the pace for African fashion around the world, and this year it will not only bring it’s culture to the front line, but that of many other nations. Deadline registration for designers is august 13th, 2016. Early registers will also be granted the opportunity of exclusive local and international press coverage and features.
