Nana Appiah Mensah & Shatta Wale |
It is estimated that the entertainment firm has so far invested close to US$30m from the big signings of artistes such as Stonebwoy, Becca, Obibini, Kumi Guitar to mention few and various ventures including Zylofon FM, Zylofon TV, Zylofon Cash, Zylofon Creative arts fund and so on.
But the reason and secret were brought to light during the grand signing and unveiling of ‘Dancehall King’ Shatta Wale at the offices of Zylofon Media, East Legon, Accra.
Speaking at the unveiling which was broadcasted live on Zylofon TV, CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah stated that his firm aims to unite artistes in the country to fight the world but not amongst themselves.
Questions were being asked about the safety of the deal to sign Shatta Wale unto the label knowing well that his arch-rival, Stonebwoy was also signed unto the same label, but the Zylofon owner who also doubles as the CEO of Menzgold quashed those ideas and stressed that there is a need for creative artistes to look beyond the shores of Ghana rather than being enemies of their own selves. Nana Appiah is quoted as saying, “The fight is not between the artistes in Ghana but Ghana against the world”, hence the establishment of the company, Zylofon Media.
Shatta Wale as it was revealed by the communications director for Zylofon Media, Sammy Flex, has signed a 3-year management deal with the creative arts firm but the details of the contract were not revealed during the official unveiling.
