#OMG: SA Fashion Week Set For 28th Whilst Wind Blows Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Cape Town Away

To the fan and guest it may seem as simply postponing to another date, to an event organizer this must be like a near death situation, as AFI has had to cancel the 2017 edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Cape Town after the first day.

With designers and guests coming from all over the world, especially various parts of Africa, with their own resources, one can only imagine how much scrutiny the organizers must be facing at this very moment.

Yesterday it was announced the postponing of day 2, today it was announced the fashion week has actually been rescheduled.

Following the advice of our engineering experts, we have made the executive decision to postpone MBFWCT17. A press conference will be held this afternoon where more information will be provided. We thank you for your patience. #mbfwct17 #afi_sa #fashionweek

What is even worst a threat to the brand, is another prominent fashion week, SA Fashion Week, is also about to make it’s 2017 entrance and it most likely is a tad bit of competition. At this moment there most likely is a strong number of designers, especially those who flew their way down to South Africa probably attempting to switch and showcase at SA Fashion Week 2017 whilst they are still in the country.

Unfortunately, as we are based in Ghana, we are not too certain what the relationship between the two parties may be, but if at anystage there is any rivalry involved, this could be an unwarranted upperhand for SA Fashion Week. Especially if they refuse to be held back by the strong wind. A chance for them to capture and captivate both fans and designers of #MBFWCT17.
