I have received a couple of disturbing stories of how some people educate, established businesses and buy properties for others in a bid to marry them in the future. But the beautiful dream has turned into a nightmare.
It is sad, but that's human nature. How many of us in this modern world will go and build on a land without the owner’s permission hoping the land will be given to us in the future because of the value of our investment?
Most definitely no! Such land will never be given to you, the worst will be for you to carry your property or investment off the land. Many of us won't do that, it not wise, but strangely others do this in dating.
Why invest in someone in a bid for marriage? There is no COMMITMENT in dating.
During dating your goal is to study someone, to find out whether you are compatible. Instead of people to scrutinize, examine, inspect, observe and watch they rather close their eyes and dream about looks, wedding day, profession, money, cars, houses, kisses, sex, etc. So by the time they wake up to the reality, it will be too late.
One of the best ways of knowing someone is to ask questions, get to know their likes, goals, dreams, beliefs, addictions, habits, their friends, family, how they treat people and animals, etc.
Don't go introducing yourself as their in-law for you are just a good friend.
The focus on dating should be friendship, leave “feelings” out of the equation. Once you find out you are compatible, love with automatically set in. If they want you in their lives, let them put you there. Don't go fighting for a spot. You are not a backup plan or a second choice.
For all those who are in a hurry because of family pressure, friends, age, etc., keep this scripture with you "For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay". - Habakkuk 2:3 (ESV).
Please share with your friends, someone out there needs this.
